DC Position
Sofia Vanzan was born and raised in Padova, Italy, and moved to the Netherlands to pursue higher education. She earned her Bachelor of Laws in Comparative, European and International Legal Studies from the University of Trento, Italy. She then completed two Master of Laws degrees at the University of Groningen: one in Global Criminal Law and one in International Human Rights Law. Between 2024 and 2026, she served as a Research Fellow at the Human Rights Centre of the University of Padova. She is currently pursuing her PhD, focusing on the ethical, legal, and societal challenges and opportunities of applying psychedelic therapy.
In her free time, she enjoys hiking, attending concerts, and travelling.
