DC14 – Harmonising Ethical Regulation of Psychedelic Therapy with Broader Medical Practices
Julia S. Etkin was born in Colorado, USA, where she attended the Denver Waldorf School. She earned her Bachelor of Arts in Science, Medicine, and Technology in Culture with Political Science and Law and Humanities from Union College in New York, and went on to complete a Master of Science in Bioethics at Harvard Medical School. Julia completed a postgraduate associateship at Yale School of Medicine and a fellowship at Harvard Law School. She is currently pursuing her PhD in the Department of Psychiatry and Neurosciences at the Charité Universitätsmedizin Berlin, where her research focuses on psychedelic medicine and ethics. Her interdisciplinary research addresses mind-body harmonization in pharmaceutical and psychiatric ethics, policy, and regulation. In her free time, she takes solace in nature, practicing yoga and meditation, and spending time with animals.
